Weezer's new clip - all your fave internet stars together!
The latest music video offering by Weezer for their new song Pork and Beans has received almost 2 million views within the first 24 hours of being uploaded. It has since received almost 4 million hits. If you watch the clip you will see why. It has to be one of the cleverest clips I’ve ever seen.
Directed by Matt Cullen of production company Motion Theory who came up with the idea only a few weeks ago and shot it in early May. "For people who aren't on the internet, this is like a web CliffsNotes to getting into internet culture," he told technology website Wired.
Although you will probably remember people more for their clips than their names, the video includes Tay Zonday (Chocolate Rain), Chris Crocker (Leave Britney Alone!), Lauren Caitlin Upton (Miss Teen USA), Lauren Caitlin Upton, Ghyslain Raza (The Star Wars Kid) and Judson Laipply (Evolution of Dance) just to name a few.
In the clip lasting a little over three minutes, Weezer crams in references to almost 30 memes, with original performances by the internet celebrities.
Here is a list of memes and web celebrities referenced in the Pork and Beans music video. There may be more but these are the ones documented thanks to the guys at news.com.au.

Hi Nomad, yeah apart from the kick-arse video, their music is awesomely awesome.
Hi Ruby, I hope so. That would be the real paydirt for this one although with so many hits in such a short space of time I think this is going to end up being one of the most viewed on YouTube ever. I'd love to see what he's come up with for a feature.
Thanks MNG, Weezer airplay is always good. Pity radio doesn't have visuals, maybe you could plug the clip
Hi Johnny, glad you'll pass it along, it was brought to my attention by Dave (AKA Hatchy).
PS. Thanks Dave!
