The Hours - See The Light Clip Starring Sienna Miller

This is the dramatic and disturbing new video from British band The Hours starring the very talented Sienna Miller portraying a mental hospital patient in the unrelenting grip of a breakdown. Seemingly trapped in a designer store before escaping and moving barefoot and frightened through the streets before gut wrenchingly stating in therapy, "Death feels like the safest place for me right now."

The clip for the song "See The Light," at just over seven minutes, is more like a mini movie rather than a music video with an extremely raw and emotional performance from Miller.

"It's a song about struggle and addiction and fear and darkness ... and these guys have brought it to life; the song and the film work perfectly together, it's band on," The Hours lead singer Ant Genn said in a statement.

On Oct. 29 the band posted a blog about the clip but didn't reveal the identity of the video's star: "We all think it's a bit special. Hope you like what you hear!"

The video concludes with a desolate Miller beseeching, "Break open my head then and fix it. I just feel panicked and sick and full of dread. It's about time I faced the truth. Somewhere within all of the darkness there is light and I need to find it."

It may make you look at people who suffer depression or have suicidal thoughts with a little more compassion.

The Hours

Directed by Tony Kaye (American History X, Johnny Cash's 'God's Gonna Cut You Down'), with art direction by Damien Hirst.
