"Bueller? Bueller?"
Well the last post was a disappointment. It only made me realise that people post because they want me to post on their blogs! Give a little people...
My friends car broke down yesterday. I was in it. Another friend (yes, I have many) asked if it was serious, or if I had laughed. I replied "It was serious, I laughed." We sat by the curb-side in Bondi waiting for the NRMA guy to come. Luckily we had a small tape player (since her car doesn't have any CD player/radio/steering wheel), and we started to listen to some of the trashy 80's tapes in her car. Johnny Hates Jazz? I hate Johnny!
Anyway, I remembered I had, in my last life a very, very long time ago made a promise to find some 80's songs etc etc and care and share. I love the 80's. It was only then that Tina Turner could get away with a duet with David Bowie.
Anyway (I say that quite a bit, don't I), I give you the 80's:
Artist: Eurythmics (note the lack of 'The')
Album: Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of These)
Song: Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of These)
Who said that threatening isn't attractive. And what is with the cow? Dear Lord, save us from this tacky madness. At least the song is incredible.
Watch It/Hear It
Artist: OMD
Album: Pretty In Pink OST
Song: If You Leave
Not my favourite 80's movie, nor my favourite Hughes movie. Ferris Bueller and The Breakfast Club was better. However, the soundtrack is the best thing to ever come out of Hollywood. The title song is also extremly good. And I've heard Molly Ringwald is now a balding fat girl.
Watch It/Hear It
Artist: Talk Talk
Album: It's My Life
Song: It's My Life
I've come to the conclusion that these people weren't very inventive with their albums and songs. Always titled the same. Even better, Talk Talk is one of the very few bands who have hit all three. They are Talk Talk, their album was Talk Talk, and a song off the very same album was Talk Talk. Now complete with No Doubt cover, which did the song justice.
Watch It/Hear It
Artist: Huey Lewis & The News
Album: Fore!/Back To The Future OST
Song: The Power Of Love
At least it isn't the Celine Dion version, that's all I can say. The video takes a while to actually start though, which annoys me greatly.
Watch It/Hear It
Artist: INXS
Album: Kick
Song: Never Tear Us Apart
Finally some good Australian music. Only took a hundred or so years. But here we have it, INXS. It took me a while to get into INXS for some reason, and there is no way I'll ever like the new 'version'
Watch It/Hear It
Well there you have it.
Complete and trashy 80's.
Of course there is much missing, like Simple Minds for example, Guns N Roses, and the list goes on like Mel & Kochie (Die! Die! Die!)
